Maas Brothers Powder Coating is proud to be recognized as a leading sustainable powder coater, earning an EcoVadis Bronze Medal and ranking in the top 14% of companies assessed in the Treatment and Coating of Metals industry. This recognition underscores our leadership in sustainable practices within our industry.
Globally, EcoVadis awards the Bronze Medal to the top 35% of the more than 130,000 companies assessed for sustainability best practices. We are pleased to share that Maas Brothers ranked even higher, placing in the 75th percentile of all companies assessed. This distinction highlights our strong commitment to sustainability on a global scale.
A Significant Milestone on Our Sustainability Journey

EcoVadis evaluates companies across four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Maas Brothers’ Bronze Medal reflects strong performance in these areas, particularly in Labor & Human Rights and Ethics, where the company ranked in the top 11% and 19%, respectively, within our industry sector. This recognition strengthens our reputation as a leading sustainable powder coater.

Sustainability Reporting as an Industrial Powder Coater
Since our earliest days, Maas Brothers has taken a practical approach to sustainability, focusing efforts on constantly improving our processes and reducing waste while maintaining high-quality results—all of which benefit our customers, our community, and our business as a sustainable powder coater.
More recently, Maas Brothers has committed to increasing its public sustainability reporting efforts. We are doing so not only because it is the right thing to do, but also to support our customers’ own sustainable procurement efforts.
This commitment starts with measuring and benchmarking our carbon emissions.
Reducing Carbon Emissions
At the end of 2023, Maas Brothers publicly committed to reducing carbon emissions from Scope 1, 2, and 3 by at least 15% against 2018 benchmarks. We knew we had invested in ways that reduce carbon emissions, but we’d never measured by how much. So we made measuring the company emissions a top priority for 2024.
So far, we have calculated Maas Brothers’ Scope 1 and 2 emissions for both 2023 and our benchmark year, 2018. The good news is that we are on track to meet our reduction commitments and evaluating whether we can do even more. That data was submitted as part of our first EcoVadis assessment and will be included in an upcoming Sustainability Report. Meanwhile, we have started measuring our Scope 3 emissions and expect to be able to report on those soon.
Looking Ahead: Our Future Sustainability Goals
As we move forward, Maas Brothers remains committed to achieving even higher standards of sustainability. Our future goals include:
- Further Reducing Environmental Impact: Through continuous improvement and innovation.
- Expanding Sustainable Procurement Practices: To ensure responsible sourcing.
- Enhancing Transparency and Reporting: We are working on becoming more transparent in our sustainability reporting this year, with the aim of providing clearer insights into our progress and practices.
- Achieving Higher EcoVadis Ratings: By focusing on continuous improvement across all areas of our sustainability efforts.
