What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is the fastest-growing finishing technology in North America.

Powder coatings are easy to use, environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and tough. Powder-coated products are more resistant to diminished coating quality due to an impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and other extreme weather conditions. In turn, this reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, fading, and other wear issues.

Powder coating is a method of applying a functional, protective, and/or decorative finish to a wide range of parts and comes in an almost limitless range of colors and textures. The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is sprayed with a special spray gun that electrostatically charges the powder. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded parts until heated and fuse into a smooth coating in a curing oven. This results in a smooth continuous coating that is highly durable, scratch, and chip-resistant iron.
